It’s official – Bobby Bones is in the finals of Dancing With the Stars. The radio host cemented his spot in the final four on Monday night, Nov. 12, after two rousing performances and a shocking double elimination.

Bones was first to perform during the telecast, kicking things off with a red-hot salsa routine. In addition to his partner Sharna Burgess, Bones had the help of other dancers from the DWTS Troupe as he danced to Flo Rida “GDFR.” The ballroom floor was packed with fans, eagerly chanting his name after the high-energy performance. “I hit every step for the first time ever! Ever!” Bones cheered.

“Well I’ve got to say, you put the boy into flamboyant. Not the most conventional of salsas, however, you’re not a conventional guy. But you come out, you entertain, you give us fun, you attack the dance. I enjoyed watching you. Well done, Bobby,” said head judge Len Goodman.

Both fellow judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba agreed, adding that while he was highly entertaining, he was ahead of the beat slightly, causing him to move ahead of his fellow dancers.

While all of the judges enjoyed the entertainment factor Bones brought to the dance floor, they scored him a 21 out of 30.

His second dance, however, is what won over the hearts of the judges. Dancing a jive to “Gimme Some Lovin’,” the performance was dedicated to Goodman, who has been notoriously tough on Bones throughout the season. As Bones and Burgess danced across the ballroom floor, a photo of Goodman’s fan was projected onto the floor. The biggest surprise happened at the end when the Arkansas native ripped off his shirt and jacket, revealing a t-shirt with Goodman’s face printed right on the front. The stunt not only surprised the judges and fans, but also Burgess, who had no idea what was about to happen.

“Let me say, I had so much fun coming to visit you. Honestly… to quote Lou Reed, it’s a walk on the wild side,” said Goodman after the dance. “I enjoyed it so much. We worked on those kicks and flicks, and by and large, I saw you doing them pretty good. Yeah, pretty good, that’s what I’m saying. For the entertainment, coming out and selling it, you’re my man, Bobby.”

Added Inaba, “I’m just watching the replay again and it really was improved and that’s what we’re looking for. We’re looking for true improvement. Your steps were way more refined. The kicks were extremely high. It was all there. It was a little wild, but it just really was so much fun. Truly, the world needs more… I said it before, the world needs more Bobby Bones.”

The judges awarded Bones with 24 out of 30, a total that Bones dubbed his “perfect score.”

While his score wasn’t as high as his fellow competitors, Bones has a massive fan base (the B-Team) behind him and with their votes, he made it through to the finals. The episode ended with a double elimination of Juan Pablo Di Pace and “Grocery Store” Joe Amabile.
